Teacher: You went on a trip yesterday. What did you take along?

Pupils: I took a suitcase.

I took a book to read.

I took a towel.

I took a coat.

I took an umbrella.

I took a ball.

I took a note-book.

I took a pen.

Teacher: Very good. But I know very well that that was the only thing you took. Yes, don't be surprised. Thatwas a very unusual trip. Cathy took only a suitcase. Bob took only a book. Tom took only a towel. In a word, each took only one. thing. Isit clear? All right. Let's go on. I want to ask: what did you eat? Remember that you took only one thing with you.

Cathy：I ate a suitcase.

Bob：I ate a book.

Tom：I ate a towel.Jane：I ate a ball.

有的同学忍俊不禁。教师马上指出：虽然上述答句没有语法错误，但在意义上句中所用的名词和动词eat 是不能搭配的。为了巩固动词一般过去时的用法，暂且允许这样用了。这个游戏规定，笑是不允许的。谁忍不住，就要受罚而扣分。接着，游戏继续进行。教师问：What did you put on your head？

What did you put on your feet？

做这个游戏时，教师还可以这样提问：You went to the park.What did vou see there？

You went to the market.What did you buy there？

重要的是，大家必须遵守以下规则：在回答第一个问题时，学生就得记住自己的“物品”，并用它来回答老师的其他问题。
