游戏从教师叙事导入。
Tcacher：Yesterday morning I was hurrying to school.On my way I saw an old woman.：She was running from a bus-
stop down the road to a building.Ilooked at her and I understood what had happened to her.She needed help badiy and I gave it to her.What do you think che reason was？
Ann：She had left money at home and couldn't go to work.
John：She had left a gas-stove on..
Mary：She had left the door open.
Teacher：No，you are all wrong.She had left her medicine at home but she suddenly felt bad.Luckily I had the medicine withme，soIgaveittoherandthus，helped her.
接着，游戏开始。教师提供情景，要学生猜出
事情发生的原因。例如，教师讲台上放着--封回信，学生根据这一个情景各自说出自己的猜测。
教师可提供的情景很多，如：a）Yesterday I saw a girl crying bitterly.
b）I saw a group of boys who looked very tired.
c）The boy was smiling.
这个游戏还可以同时请几名学生到前面来，教师向他们每人提-一个问题。例如：Why didn't you clean the table？
Why didn't you close the window？
Why didn't you turn off the television？
Why didn't you come to school yesterday？
Why didn't you write to.your friends？
让学生思考几分钟后回答。最后请同学们评定，谁的理由最充足。
